Philden TV

Beyond producing this blog and a series of colour photography books on Australia's railways, I've moved onto producing an assortment of short model train and Australian railway videos on my very own YouTube channel.

Philden TV allows me to share a far greater mix of creative content all in the one place, from my own model railway highlights to some homegrown railfan highlights from my home city of Brisbane and beyond. You'll also find model train videos from Philden Beach, and some historic action from my Philden Street Yard layout. Be sure to subscribe to my channel directly on YouTube, to be able to view the very latest videos as they are released!

If you can't make it to see my layout in person at a model train show here in Australia, then be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel so that you don't miss any of the fun and folly that takes place on my filmed running sessions. For a short-ish shelf layout, I leave all seriousness aside to simply run some trains and share a bit of my delight with the viewers in YouTubeland and experiment with different design, soundtrack, editing and lighting elements.

Prior to a huge layout rebuild in 2023, Philden Street Yard was a fictional HO scale layout set in industrial inner-Melbourne around the turn of the Millenium. Throughout lockdowns during the Pandemic, model train exhibitions were impossible to plan. So I produced a series of YouTube videos for this layout instead. Operations in 'The Yard' became the catalyst for my first scale railfan videos on YouTube. Look closely, and you'll see that the track plan and general structures on Philden Street Yard haven't changed between this layout and the next. Each of the below thumbnails will open the accompanying short video on YouTube.
