Weathered by Philden Showcase 5

Heading into what will be a very busy August, here is a quick catch up on some weathering highlights over on my phildenmodelrailway eBay store. These are some more second hand HO scale models that I picked up at a recent buy-and-sell and was able to repair and weather over the course of July.

This bright yellow C&NW hopper needed the end rails rebuilt before receiving a grime makeover.

Experimenting with different rust patterns revamped this tired old 3 bay hopper.

This red oxide coloured C&NW coal hopper now looks like its been to the coalfields.

This Denver & Rio Grande Western hi-cube boxcar (brand unknown) received some heavy rusting...

...while this Union Pacific steel boxcar came up great with just some light fading.

As is now the custom, after photographing each model's step-by-step progress for use in a future book project, they are now listed for purchase on eBay along with a Certificate of Authenticity so that you know the model you buy is genuinely supporting a full-time writer.
