Weathered by Philden Showcase 10

Four-wheeled wagons is the theme for this weathered showcase. As 2022 draws closer and closer to Christmas, it's time to post the few remaining photos of some of the weathered rollingstock I have completed over the second half of the year. With warmer weather bearing down upon us for another Australian summer, it's time to put the airbrush away and spend the warmer months tucked away in the airconditioning writing my next couple of books.

These Hornby OO open wagons were given a subtle weathering inside and out.

This Hornby OO 7 plank open wagon was given a medium weathering.

While this 5 plank open wagon received a very, very light weathering.

As you can see, each had the inside timber mouldings hand painted.

These Austrains Victorian Railways U vans were fun to weather with some heavy rust spots.

Giving each van a weather gives them a more unique appearance.

So there you have it. An asortment of little 4 wheel wagons in both OO and HO scale that were all given a very light weathering, simply to reduce their as-new plastic appearance more than anything. All of the above are now available for purchase through my eBay shop, (link below).

It's been a time consuming project to weather such an asortment of very different wagons and items of rollingstock to gain enough material to centre a book around. Despite being able to weather the majority of my own roster of Australian models, there still wasn't enough variety to showcase different techniques using different models of open wagons, hoppers, box cars, tankers, without scouring buy-and-sell tables and hobby shops. The task now is to recoup the money I outlayed by hopefully selling them all off, and just focus on completing the weathering on my model railway's roster. So if there's anything you are after, there's no time like now.

All models come with a certificate of authenticity so you know they've been weathered by me.

For my own record...
Models sold 54/105
