Weathered by Philden Showcase #32

This post sees me bring the number of models I have weathered to sell to over 300! But I'm not done yet. So, let's hop into this post starting with the Dapol OO Gauge bulk grain hopper above. There is still another large plastic storage crate full of models waiting for me to repair, paint and weather while I continue to establish a new career path. Exactly how much longer I will have the time to see to them remains uncertain. But these models are now all live on my eBay store while they last.

If you'd rather learn how to weather some models yourself, then please make sure you grab a copy of my book Model Railway Weathered Wonders. The book is also still available from leading hobby stores. Otherwise, the link at the bottom of this post will take you to where these models are listed for sale on eBay. Cheers, until next time.

Another OO Dapol bulk grain hopper, this time for Bass Charington.

A lightly weathered coal hopper wagon for the Borough of Bedford Electricity Co.

And a moderately weathered loco depot coal wagon, with extra weathering attention given to the coal load. No-one likes that shiny plastic lumpy look.

Now to some HO scale models, starting with this lightly weathered 3 bay coal hopper of the Minneapolis & St. Louis R.R.

And it's shorter 2 bay companion also showing signs of moderate use.

While I did a reasonable job turning this glossy black Nickel Plate Road hopper into something a little more used, it still didn't photograph as good as it looks. Possibly my lighting was too harsh.

This HO scale Milwaukee Road covered hopper I turned from an older toy-like model into a weather-beaten cement hopper. The dry brushed ladder rungs help thin it's chunkiness down a little.

Each of my weathered models comes with a signed COA. One day when I'm gone, perhaps they'll be worth something?

For my own record...
